Method

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until translucent.

Add lean ground beef to the pan and cook until browned. Season with salt, black pepper, and chopped basil.

Pour tomato sauce into the meat mixture and simmer for 15 minutes to blend flavors.

In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce.

Layer pasta sheets over the sauce to cover the bottom.

Spread a layer of meat sauce over the pasta, then sprinkle with shredded mozzarella.

Repeat layering pasta, meat sauce, and mozzarella until ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of pasta topped with sauce.

Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.

Cover the dish with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
