How to do it

Sit back on an incline bench so the arms hang behind the torso, which puts the biceps on stretch. Curl the dumbbells up without letting the shoulders swing forward, then lower slowly back into the stretch. This position is the point of the exercise, so use a lighter weight than a standing curl and never bounce out of the bottom.

Form cues

  • Arms hang behind the torso for the stretch
  • Do not swing the shoulders forward
